Business cards/appointment cards may be the very first contact you have between your business and your offering. Do you really want a poor-quality unprofessional business card/appointment card? Do you agree that a professionally designed and printed business card/appointment card - one that is designed to attract your perfect customer - should be an important business decision and not just some cheap graphics thrown onto some cheap paper?
If you agree, consider that Presnell’s Printing Company has been creating tax-deductible professional business cards/appointment cards for our customers for over 23 years. From your ideas, we will graphically design and print the perfect business card/appointment card for your business. If you need help with ideas, we can help you with that, too. It’s our job to help businesses succeed! If you don’t have a logo, or would like to upgrade your logo, let’s start there, first. Click Here to go to our logo page and learn more about how important a good logo is to the overall success of your business.
When people tell me how they got their first order of business cards for free from some entity off the Internet, I often ask them, “Are those free cards with no logo really working for you?” There’s a reason they’re free or cheap. Have you ever noticed how those free cards look almost the same for every business that orders them? Wait until they reorder – that’s when they get hit with the big price. You know the old sayings, “nothing is free” and “pay now or pay later”.
You can design your own business cards in many desktop publishing programs, provided you follow our Design & Submission Requirements. If you would like to let us design it for you, the first time we design your card – one that you know will attract more customers to your business – there is a one-time set up charge. It’s based on how much time we put into designing your card. If you have a great logo, you definitely want that on your business card. Sometimes we receive low quality logos or art from our customers that require time to fix, too. Most of our time-based, one-time set up charges are less than $50, but we will send you an estimate before we do anything. When you reorder, you only pay for printing. That’s right! Our price usually drops when you reorder! If you don’t have a logo, Click Here.
Ok, I hope all that wasn’t too painful. Let’s go over some of the reasons for having a professional business card in the first place.
1. Provides your contact information to potential customers
This is the most important reason. From our years of experience, we believe that business cards should be clear and easy to read. Too many graphics or hard-to-read fonts will weaken your business cards’ ability to attract customers. You should include your logo, your business name, your name and title, your telephone numbers, your street address, your email address, and website. Don’t ever try to make your business card an advertisement for all the things you offer. There is just not enough room.
2. Helps your potential customers remember you
If you are a plumber, you want the customer to remember to call you when the pipe breaks! I usually suggest that you could include a one- or two-line statement about your primary offerings. Think about this carefully. If you could say one thing to your potential customers to encourage them to call you, what would it be? This line or short list is about what you do best or how you can solve your customers’ problems or satisfy their needs. You might also state that you are licensed or bonded, or associated, too. You might place a good photo on your card if you believe it will help people remember you. Hire a professional photographer and consider basic backgrounds that will work with the cards overall design. I’m not a big fan of two-sided cards, (people seem to never turn the card over) but that’s up to you. Some people love them. If you use a two-sided card, the back could be a list of the things you offer. Don’t make the back look like another business card. It will confuse people. Black is often the best color for the back, but we offer full color on both sides, too.
3. Reflects your company’s marketing plan
Be sure your card agrees with your overall marketing plan and business values. For example, a professional such as an attorney may want a very restrained clean design that implies professionalism. An artist may want a photo of his art on the card or in the background. Your business card should also agree in design with your Color brochures and Envelopes and other marketing materials.
4. Makes your business stand out from your competition
Be careful here. You do not need gimmicks or novelty cards to differentiate your business from your competitors. A direct, concise, and visually appealing card will usually work better. Folded cards fall off the counter and go directly into the trash. They will not stay in a card holder and most people despise putting one in their pocket. Magnetic cards, plastic cards, metal cards, fancy cut cards and laminated cards are expensive and rarely produce the results desired. I want people to contact us, go to this website or store my contact info in their cell phone. It might pay off for you to take a look at some of your “successful” competitors’ business cards before we design yours.
There’s one more important thing I need to say about business cards. When you get them in your hands, “hand them out!” A box of business cards sitting on the shelf will not produce one new customer for you! Make a written plan on how far and wide you will distribute your new cards, then hand them out. Put them everywhere. Don’t leave too many at each place. It’s better to leave a few and go back in a few weeks and check on them. FYI, 1,000 business cards are much less expensive per card than 250. Buy a bunch and leave them everywhere.
If you are ready to order, Click Here. If you would like more information, please Contact Us. Thank you again for choosing Presnell’s Printing Company.
